But what he commands is not hard or heavy when he helps us do what he commands\u2026 Charity makes sweet what the precepts have of harshness. We know what great things love accomplishes.  <\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0 0 16px;\">Often this love is reprehensible and lascivious: what great calamities men have suffered, through what dishonors they have had to pass and endure to reach the object of their love! Whether it be a lover of money, that is, a miser; or a lover of public office, that is, an ambitious person; or a lover of beautiful bodies, that is, a lustful person. But who can enumerate all the loves? Consider, however, how much all lovers toil and yet do not feel the toil; and they take on more toil when someone prevents them from suffering those very toils.   <\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0;\">If, therefore, most men are as their loves are, one should be concerned in life with nothing other than choosing what to love. Why are you surprised that he who loves Christ and wants to follow him, by the force of that very love, denies himself? They keep them alive, care for them, and teach them. To a great extent, their existence depends on them. <strong style=\"color: #2c6a8f;\">This is the same relationship that Jesus lives with his Father<\/strong> and the kind of relationship every Christian is called to imitate.  <\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0 0 16px;\">Throughout life, as a consequence of sin, we cling to various yokes: those of success, recognition, power, appearance, or performance, which promise freedom. However, all they produce is anxiety and dissatisfaction. <\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0 0 16px;\">Jesus proposes a different path. He does not eliminate the demands of discipleship, for it involves renunciation, conversion, and the cross. The difference is that this yoke is born from the Son&#8217;s love for the Father. <strong style=\"color: #2c6a8f;\">It does not enslave, but liberates<\/strong>. Therefore, although it remains a yoke, it is light: whoever takes up the cross does not carry it alone, but accompanied by Christ and sustained by the community.   <\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0 0 16px;\">The simple ones, the little ones to whom Jesus refers at the beginning of the Gospel, are those who live an authentic filial relationship with the Father, regardless of their age, social position, or intellectual level. They are those who, like small children, recognize how much they depend on God&#8217;s love to walk the path of the cross. <\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0;\">The Gospel invites us to examine our interior and contemplate how our heart is. His yoke is to learn from him, remain united to him, and let his gentleness and humility transform our heart. It does not eliminate life&#8217;s burdens: <strong style=\"color: #2c6a8f;\">it turns them into a path of communion<\/strong> and an opportunity to love and serve. I had just received the sacrament of Confirmation and was taking my first steps in parish life; I was eager to continue growing in faith and serving God, but that whole process was put on pause. <\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0 0 16px;\">At the end of 2021, the opportunity arose to help with First Communion and Confirmation ceremonies, for which I gladly accepted the invitation without imagining that, through that small service, <strong style=\"color: #2c6a8f;\">God was calling me again<\/strong>; and little by little I was reuniting with him and rediscovering the joy of belonging to a community.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0 0 16px;\">The following year I began my journey of service as a catechist and, since then, I have remained persevering in my Santa Rita de Casia community. This time has allowed me to strengthen my faith, learn to trust more in God, and understand that <strong style=\"color: #2c6a8f;\">serving is not just performing a task, but letting him first transform our heart<\/strong> so we can then share his love with others. <\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0 0 24px;\">Today I give thanks to the Lord because what seemed like a simple invitation ended up being the means by which I returned to his side. He has taught me that, when we respond with a simple heart, trust in his will, and put ourselves at his service, he always guides us along the path he has prepared for us. <\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: right;
